Kitchen Plans

Whenever cabinetry and counter tops are used in a plan, as in kitchens and baths, it is nice to include in the building plans Elevation views, as in this example. The views of the range and the hood actually come from the General Electric web site. http://www.geappliances.com/ Browse to the appliance of interest, click on the Manuals & Documentation tab, then select "CAD Download". Here is a link directly to a gas range.

Once you have downloaded the CAD file

you can open it in a drafting program. You will see it in plan view (from the top.) What you have to do to see and save the front view depends on your CAD software. In DataCad (my software of choice (visit their site at http://www.datacad.com/)) I click on the front elevation icon, do a hidden line removal and save to a new layer.
